What Change Style Indicator ™ Does

Change Style Indicator is a leadership assessment designed to measure an individual’s preferred style in approaching and addressing change. It provides leaders of all level with insights on personal preferences for managing through change and provides context for how those around them might perceive and respond to their preferred style.

Highlights of CSI Update:

  • Powerful and innovative normative data demonstrates relationships between age, gender, industry and nationality
  • Participant feedback reports and the Change Style Indicator Style Guide are now an integrated document for both online and hand scored versions.
  • Hand scored versions of Change Style Indicator are now a single package containing the assessment, Style Guide and scoring instructions.
  • The Change Style Indicator Style Guide has been streamlined for ease of use and administration.  Administrators who in the past have chosen to print their style guides will be delighted to find the report condensed to 10 pages resulting in a 60% reduction in printing costs. 
  • Discovery Learning, Inc. has made printing Change Style Indicator’s Style Guides so easy and affordable that we have eliminated the need to ship Style Guides separately.  This results in a major savings for customers who will no longer need to pay for shipping.
  • Contemporary look reflects the class leading product features.
  • Change Style Indicator can now be completed in less time thanks to a reduction in the number of questions (22 to 20).
  • In addition to reducing the time commitment for taking the survey DLI has improved the psychometric properties of Change Style Indicator through statistical analysis.  We have removed 2 questions from the battery whose relevancy has changed over time due to socioeconomic changes. 

 

How Change Style Indicator Works

Change Style Indicator uses 20 items to establish a ranking of how the respondent prefers to address and work with change. The instrument addresses both initiated and imposed change and places the respondent on a continuum between Conserver and Originator with Pragmatist in between.

Change Style Indicator is available in a traditional hardcopy and a convenient online version. Both versions provide the same great user experience and allow trainers and facilitators flexibility in their program design.

Online Version

  • Assessment poses 20 items for determining change preferences
  • Can be administered prior to classroom setting
  • Takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete
  • Online report includes personal score and an integrated style guide that contextualizes the participants score and helps to interpret their results

Hard Copy Version

How to Order

Once certified you can order Change Style Indicator online (scroll down to access shopping cart) or by calling our office at 336.272.9530. Our online assessment center allows participants to choose to take the assessment in English, French and Spanish. They can simply select their language preference when they begin to take the assessment.

This is the most useful test that I have ever taken. I used this in my work place and my managers and peers refered to and used it to reduce conflict and understand various individuals preferances as we worked through the numerous changes that occur in business.

I've used this instrument across the work place spectrum from new employees to upper management. It's simplicity makes the learnings easy to understand. It is just as effective for individual or team use. I think this instrument is especially valuable assisting an individual to better understand how she/he can play a key role in the process of change within their work culture.

Simple but deep. Opens up space for rich discussions about individual behavior, leadership, and team relations around change. I've used the tool with many different groups from leaders to front-line staff and it works everywhere.

I am a huge fan and supporter of the CSI. I love its simplicity and ease for people who take it to understand the concepts quickly. It is always fun to see the participants aha moments as it sheds light on so many areas they face in dealing with change. The concepts are easy to understand and always generates a deep discussion.

We've used the Change Style Indicator with middle managers and intact teams to enable them to better understand their own responses to change and to interact more effectively with others who have a different approach. It's a great jumping off point to working with change management strategies.

Elegantly simple construct that all sorts of audiences "get" immediately. The insights are helpful and excellent for teams and groups as well as individual coaching situations. Today is all about "CHANGE" and the results on the CSI give teams and organizations a platform and language for discussing/understanding where resistance and push for change may come from.

We have used Change Style Indicator for more than ten years as a part of our work on leading and managing change. It helps learners better understand their own preferences for change, as well as the preferences of those whom they lead. It enables leaders to adapt their own leadership and adopt change strategies which result in effective change management.
