Change Style Indicator, Change Process Model, and Dangerous
Opportunity
- session is approximately two hours
- lecture by facilitator; little or no participation
- works well with any size group
Here's the Discovery
- Engage any size group by exploring through lecture and assessment as well as their experiences in navigating change within their organization
- Enable audience to reflect on learnings in light of the differences in preference and perspective highlighted through the Change Style Indicator.
This coordinated design combines an assessment
with a lecture and the providing of a book for additional reading.
Use Change Style Indicator (online beforehand or self-scoring in classroom) to determine the Change Style preference of each participant at the beginning of the session. This can be completed in advance if pre-work is an option. Formal reports you produce through Discovery Learning’s Online Assessment Center can be distributed to participants at the appropriate time. An accompanying Style Guide identifies strengths and pitfalls of style characteristics.
Facilitator/consultant presents information about Change Styles using the PowerPoint TM materials included in the Facilitator Guide. Distribute reports to individuals or have them self score their instruments. If appropriate for this group, ask participants to arrange themselves by score and invite comments from group about insights this gives them about their fellow organization members and their teamwork experiences. Present the Change Process Model and explore the experiences of group members in navigating change within their organization in light of their own Change Style preferences.
Distribute copies of Dangerous Opportunity for additional reading about Change Styles and the Change Process Model.
